Bretton Woods Adaptive Program provides an opportunity for persons with disabilities to enjoy the challenges and rewards of sports and recreation with their family and friends, which can change and enrich their lives. Off property hikes range from moderate to difficult for all ability levels. Guests are required to have appropriate clothing and sturdy boots. Street shoes are not allowed. Mountain weather is changeable and unpredictable; a waterproof layer, water and a snack are recommended. Hiking itineraries will be chosen individually by Bretton Woods Adaptive volunteers depending on participant's fitness, experience and mobility. Includes a Bretton Woods Adaptive, Inc. volunteer guide, additional BWA volunteers and any necessary adaptive equipment. Advance reservations required; please call 603.278.3398.
Adventure Hikes
2-3 hours over gentle terrain. No previous hiking experience necessary.
Great Adventure Hikes
4-6 hours over gentle to moderate terrain. No previous hiking experience necessary, though some degree of fitness is advisable.
Epic Adventure Hikes
4-8 hours over moderate to challenging terrain. Previous hiking experience is necessary along with a good level of fitness.
Schedule
All hikes depart from the Adaptive Program Office in the alpine Base Lodge. Advance reservations are required. Guests will meet in the Adaptive Program Office and following a gear check will board a shuttle to the trailhead unless other transportation arrangements have been made in advance.
