The Rental & Repair Shop at Bretton Woods is open each winter season ready to outfit you with all the equipment you need for a day on the slopes. All alpine rentals require advance online reservations 24 hours prior to arrival date. Renters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please be advised that rentals require advance online reservations 24 hours prior to arrival date. Renters and equipment users under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All renters will need to sign a release waiver and accept or decline damage waiver which covers all damage to skis or board, except for theft. If renting equipment for children, be sure to know their accurate height, weight and age before you begin the online process. Day-of walk-in rentals will be available based on available inventory.

Step 1: Before You Arrive

Step 2: During the Online Checkout Process
You will be required to select your pick-up time. Information needed for each person renting: height, weight, shoe size, head circumference and skier/rider ability. If you would like to request a specific ski and boot size, please enter sizes when prompted during the checkout process. Reservations must be made 24 hours prior to arrival.
Step 3: During the Pickup Process
Please note, all rentals require online reservations 24 hours prior to arrival date. All equipment will be pre-set based on the sizing information you have provided. If you have any questions or special requests please contact the rental shop at [email protected] 24 hours prior to your arrival date. Rentals may be extended for additional days at the time of pick-up or by email.
Cancellation Policy
All orders are charged in full at the time of the reservation. Changes or cancellations made 48 hours prior to arrival date are fully refundable. Changes or cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to arrival date are non-refundable and non-changeable. Please pay careful attention to local weather forecasts for any outdoor activities if you feel that you do not want to participate in certain weather conditions. You will not be given a refund or a gift certificate if you are late or do not show up for your activity. If your activity is cancelled by Bretton Woods due to weather or other unforeseeable conditions, you will receive a full refund or have the opportunity to reschedule. We will make every attempt to contact you at least 48 hours ahead of time however; this 48-hour notice may not always be possible due to the unpredictable nature of the weather in New Hampshire.
Rental Equipment FAQ
Can we get rentals the same day we want to ski in person?
Yes. However, advanced reservations made through the Bretton Woods eStore are encouraged.
Does your rental shop ever sell out?
We may sell out during peak times. Advanced reservations are encouraged.
Can we pick up rental equipment early?
Guests can pick up their reserved equipment the day before based on availability. Next day pickup is only available from 1pm-3pm. Please call 603-278-3310 to arrange early pickup.
Do you have somewhere we can store our rental equipment if we are skiing multiple days?
There is no overnight storage of equipment in the Rental Shop. All equipment must be kept by the renter until they return.
What time are my rentals due back at the end of the day?
All equipment is due back 15 minutes after lifts close.
Can someone under 18 pick up their own equipment?
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a release waiver.
Can we rent equipment for the entire season?
No. Seasonal rentals are not available at Bretton Woods.
Can I use my own skis/boots?
Yes, but skis or boots must pass inspection and be indemnified. There is no separate price for skis or boots only. The full price for rentals is $55.
Can I rent just poles or a helmet?
Yes. Poles and helmets can be rented separately. Visit the rental shop on the day you need these items.
When is the rental shop open?
The rental shop is open 1 hour before lifts open and 30 minutes after lifts close.
Where do I return my equipment?
When returning equipment, enter through the back of the rental shop in the “Return” area.
If I have a lesson, how early should I come to pick up my equipment?
Guests with lessons should pick up equipment an hour before their lesson to allow enough time to get ready. Rental equipment is not included with lessons.
What is the longest/shortest rental ski you have?
Our longest ski is 180cm and the shortest is 70cm (Junior).
What is the largest/smallest rental boot size you have?
The largest boot size is a men's size 16, and the smallest is a kid's size 7.
What demo brands do you carry in the Demo Center?
We carry Salomon, Head, Rossingnol, and Elan in the Demo Center.
If I rent a high-performance package, can I switch skis throughout the day and try different skis?
Yes, you can try different skis throughout the day with your high-performance package.
