Mountain Adventure Guide
The Resort offers a variety of guided activities including mountain biking, rock climbing, fly fishing, and on and off-site hiking trips. Our most popular guided activity is the Bretton Woods Canopy Tour. Guides take groups of up to 8 people, zip lining through the trees. All these activities are designed to meet the guest’s expectations and the guides are a special team of people who strive to create memorable moments every single day. The Omni Mount Washington Resort offers a professional atmosphere, fantastic growth opportunities, unlimited outdoor recreation opportunities and many employee benefits and privileges. Responsibilities
- Guide tours in a safe and professional manner while engaging guests and providing an informative experience about the area and its surroundings.
- Ensure guests enjoy safe, positive and enriching experiences that exceed their expectations.
- Demonstrate and teach guests in the use of any safety equipment.
- Ensure the correct fit, adjustment and use of equipment before and during activity participation and ensure all safety rules are followed.
- Complete daily opening and closing inspections and conducting ongoing inspections of all safety gear and equipment.
- Report any equipment safety hazards and malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Complete daily written inspection logs and equipment logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service through patience and sensitivity to guest fears and concerns.
- Maintain a professional attitude regarding conversations and interactions with guests keeping in mind all aspects of diversity and harassment training.
Qualifications
- Experience as a naturalist or outdoor recreation guide preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous rock climbing experience preferred for guiding Canopy Tours and West Wall Climbs.
- All Canopy Guides must successfully complete a 2 week training course.
- All Fly Fishing Guides must have a valid State of New Hampshire Guide certification.
- Strong leadership and teaching skills.
- Ability and comfort working at heights of 200+ feet.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible schedule is preferred and willingness to work “on-call” as needed.
- First aid qualifications are considered an asset.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including restrictions for each activity.
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests and associates. Must be reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Adventure Guides are required to work in all kinds of weather and perform their duties regardless of weather conditions
