Bretton Woods Ski School
At Bretton Woods, we offer dynamic racing programs tailored for every skill level - from youth development to adult racing leagues. Young skiers can sharpen their competitive edge through expert coaching, building confidence, skill and a passion for the slopes. For adults, our racing leagues combine the thrill of competition with the camaraderie of community, making each race day an opportunity for challenge and connection.
Bretton Woods Race Team
The Bretton Woods Race Team is an Alpine racing club competing in NHARA and USSA sanctioned events. Our program runs every weekend and during school vacations From November thru March. The program features team gatherings, awards, and camaraderie both on and off the slopes. Not just about the competition, in this program your child will develop strong, fundamental skills in a fun and safe environment. The Bretton Woods Race Team is also a great program for children who have completed all ski school programs and are ready to take their skiing to the next level with five levels for all skier types ages 6 to 18.
Race Team Requirements: All athletes must wear a helmet, no soft ears. U12 racers must have an FIS approved helmet. All racing athletes must have USSA and NHARA membership. All participants must have a season pass or day ticket.
Recommended for U12 and Older:
GS skis, SL skis, SL protection gear, GS suit.

U8 (Little Rippers)
Skiers in our Little Rippers program enjoy learning with our energetic and caring coaches. The emphasis of this program is on fun, ski fundamentals, learning safety rules and mountain exploration. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15-minute breaks. Bring a snack.

U10
Our U10 skiers get a fun-focused introduction into the wonderfully rewarding world of racing. With our experienced race staff, we put an emphasis on fun and safety while developing good skiing habits, navigating gates and racing strategy that lay the groundwork for years of successful racing. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15 minute breaks. Bring a snack.

Building on previous progression with an emphasis on ski fundamentals, our U12 program introduces changing terrain with unique challenges and solutions. We will identify the challenges and choose the best line of approach and tactics within the Giant Slalom and Slalom, as well as race preparation routine. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15 minute breaks. Bring a snack.

The U14 program is set up to maintain a healthy mix of free-skiing, drills, and gate training. As with all our programs at any level, there's an emphasis on fun, safety, and understanding ski fundamentals. This program studies the tactics of GS/SL and race prep routines. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15 minute breaks. Bring a snack.

U16/U18
The U16/18 continues to build on free-skiing, drills, and gate training while incorporating more varied terrain and longer course settings. In this setting, participants will set and work on specific goals and needs. There will also be an introduction to a SG event. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15 minute breaks. Trailblazers
Bretton Woods Trailblazers is a seasonal program for young skiers who want to improve their skiing by developing their skills, exploring all types of terrain and to see how far they can take their skiing potential. These skiers will enjoy all the various terrain that Bretton Woods has to offer, challenge their friends on the Race the Gates course as well as free-skiing around the mountain with our coaches. This program is for skiers ages 7 to 15 based on current age as of December 31, 2024 and skiers will be placed into age-appropriate groups. The minimum skiing ability for participants is “Blue Zone Skier” as described by the Bretton Woods Ski School. All participants are required to wear a helmet. All participants must have a Bretton Woods season pass or day ticket to participate each day.

Edge to Edge
The Bretton Woods Edge 2 Edge Racers is just like our weekend-long Alpine Competition team except you can choose between Saturday or Sunday. Between school, indoor sports, and other extra-curricular activities, when our little racers grow into not-so-little teenagers, the Edge 2 Edge program is designed to keep up with your teens development. The program allows participants to compete in NHARA and USSA sanctioned events, training every day during vacation and holiday periods. All the great benefits are included with only half the commitment to fit into a fast-paced schedule. We will not be taking a lunch break, but short 15 minute breaks. Bring a snack.
Registration Details & Requirements:
This program is for racers ages 15 and up. Ages based on skier’s current age as of December 31, 2024.
All athletes are required to wear a helmet.
All athletes must have USSA and NHARA membership if they are racing.
All participants must have a Bretton Woods season pass or day ticket to participate each day.
