Alpine Ski

  • Yes, we offer group and private lessons for both children and adults, as well as a semi-private option for families and friends. Group lessons are also available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and select holidays at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for both children and adults.

  • All lessons meet on snow at the Ski School Meeting Place, located at the base of the Learning Center Quad. You should arrive 15 minutes prior to your lesson ready to go with your purchased lift tickets or season pass visible.

  • Adult Learn to Ski & Ride lessons include rentals and lift tickets for the Learning Center Quad only. The children’s full-day and half-day group lessons include lunch and a lift ticket. Rentals must be purchased separately. All other lessons require the purchase of lift tickets and/or rentals separate from the lesson.

  • Yes. Ski and snowboard equipment are available, along with snowshoes, Nordic equipment, and fat bikes. Rentals should be reserved 48 hours in advance online through the Bretton Woods eStore.

  • The rental shop is open 1 hour prior to lifts opening and 30 minutes after lifts are closed.

Nordic Ski

  • Yes. A valid Nordic trail pass is required for skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking. Passes can be purchased daily or with a season membership.

  • Yes. Nordic ski equipment, and snowshoes are available for rent. Rentals should be reserved in advance online through the Bretton Woods E-Store.

  • Yes. We offer both private and group lessons for classic skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. Lessons are available for children and adults.

  • Dress in layers with breathable, non-cotton clothing. Wear gloves, a hat or headband, and warm socks. Running shoes are acceptable for fat biking and snowshoeing; ski boots are included with Nordic ski rentals.

  • Yes, dedicated dog-friendly trails allow you to share the Nordic experience with your four legged friend.

  • The rental shop is open 1 hour prior to lifts opening and 30 minutes after lifts are closed.

Golf

  • Golf attire is required for all players on both the Mount Washington Course and Mount Pleasant Course. For gentlemen, this encompasses Bermuda shorts or slacks with collared shirts (note: shirts must be tucked in). For ladies, Bermuda shorts, skirts, or slacks are acceptable. Denim, sweatpants, cutoffs, or short shorts are prohibited.

  • Tee times can be booked online here, or via phone by calling 603‑278‑4653. A valid credit card is required to hold the reservation, but funds are not charged in advance.

  • Groups of 12 players or fewer have until 36 hours in advance of their scheduled tee time to cancel without penalty; cancellations made within 36 hours of the scheduled tee time will result in a no-show charge equal to the full amount of the booking. Groups of more than 12 players have until seven days in advance of their scheduled tee time to cancel without penalty; cancellations made within seven days of the scheduled tee time will result in a no-show charge equal to the full amount of the booking.

Activities

  • The tubing hill, located near the Bretton Woods Nordic Center, is open weather permitting. Tickets must be purchased online through the Bretton Woods eStore.

  • Depending on group size, the Canopy Tour takes approximately two to three hours. This includes check-in, orientation, and transport to the top of the course.

  • Many guests with a fear of heights still enjoy the Canopy Tour. You will be double-clipped into a two-cable system at all times, and our professional guides are extensively trained in safety and course management. They will support you every step of the way to ensure the experience is fun and exhilarating.

  • Dress appropriately for the season and conditions for your comfort. Closed-toe shoes are required.

  • Yes. The climbing wall at Slopeside is open during the winter season. Please check the website for hours and details.

  • Yes. Snowshoe rentals are available and must be reserved in advance online through the Bretton Woods eStore.

General

  • Driving is the easiest way to get to Bretton Woods. We are located approximately 1.5 hours from Portland, ME and 2.5 hours from Boston, MA.

    • Traveling from Boston: Take I-93 North → US Route 3 → Route 302 West
    • Traveling from Portland: Take Route 302 West directly through North Conway

    Tip: Use “Omni Mount Washington Resort” or 310 Mount Washington Hotel Road, Bretton Woods, NH as your address for GPS navigation.

  • The weather in the White Mountains is notorious for changing without warning, especially at higher elevations. When hiking, be sure to plan ahead by packing extra layers, including waterproof outerwear and comfortable footwear. If you plan on golfing during your visit, please help us keep the course looking sharp. Collared shirts, golf slacks or shorts, and soft-spike shoes are the standard. We kindly ask that denim, tank tops, and gym wear be left off the course.

  • Any time! Bretton Woods offers something to do in all four seasons:

    • June–September: Best time for golf, ziplining, and enjoying the New Hampshire summer weather.
    • September–October: Peak fall foliage and ideal hiking conditions.
    • December–March: Best time for skiing and snowboarding and winter canopy tours.
    • November, April–May: Best for enjoying the quiet New Hampshire shoulder season. (Note that some seasonal activities and restaurants may be limited at this time.)
  • The Bretton Woods Ski Area is located approximately 105 miles/two hours from Manchester‑Boston Regional Airport (MHT), and 165 miles/2.5 hours from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

Resort & Spa

  • Yes. The resort offers a limited shuttle service that runs between the ski area, the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, the Omni Bretton Arms Inn, The Lodge, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center, and Fabyan’s.

  • Check in at both the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa and Omni Bretton Arms Inn begins at 4pm, and check out is by 11am. Requests for an early check-in or late check-out time may be accommodated based on availability for an additional fee.

  • Both the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa and Omni Bretton Arms Inn offer dog-friendly accommodations. One well-behaved dog 60 pounds and under is welcome to stay in select pet-friendly guest rooms within the main hotel and first floor of the Presidential Wing. A cleaning fee of $200 plus tax per stay applies. Please note that pets are not permitted at The Townhomes at Bretton Woods.

  • A valid credit card and government-issued photo ID is required at check-in time. Guests must be 18 years of age or older to make a reservation; guests 12 and under are considered children.

  • As a courtesy to other guests and staff, cancellations and time changes must be received at least 24 hours prior to appointment to avoid full cost. For parties of three or more, we request 72 hours notice for cancellation of any appointments to avoid being charged in full.

  • Spa treatments are limited to guests 16 years of age or older. Salon services for nails may be booked for guests younger than 16, provided they are accompanied by an adult.

  • We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time to allow enough time to prepare for your treatment and familiarize yourself with the facilities. To ensure prompt service for all our guests, all appointments end at the scheduled time, and late arrivals may result in a shortened service.

  • Depending on group size, the tour takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. This includes check-in, orientation, and transport to the top of the course.

  • Many guests with a fear of heights still enjoy the Canopy Tour. You will be double-clipped into a two-cable system at all times, and our professional guides are extensively trained in safety and course management. They will support you every step of the way to ensure the experience is fun and exhilarating.

  • The highest platform is about 70 feet above the ground, and in some places you’ll be zipping at least 150 feet above the forest floor.

  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled start time to complete waivers, get fitted, use restrooms, and secure valuables.

  • Tours begin at the guest services desk on the second floor of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge.
