Bretton Woods Forecasted Snow Report for Monday, March 9, 2026
Spring Marches In: The forecast for tomorrow promises a spectacular shift as the clouds make way for plenty of sunshine and unseasonably warm air. Temperatures will climb into the high 50s by the afternoon, creating a playground of soft corn snow across the mountain. It appears our glades decided they needed an early spring vacation, as about twenty of them have checked out for the season today to avoid the heat, so please stick to the remaining trails, and do not duck ropes or explore closed terrain. While the snow will be plush and forgiving, we recommend wearing light layers to stay cool as the sun does its work on the slopes.
Operational Summary: In terms of operations, tomorrow marks the official start of our non-weekend schedule for the remainder of the season. This means all primary lifts will begin spinning at 9:00 AM every day moving forward. Our grooming team will be out early to prepare the best possible surfaces, though the tubing hill will be taking a break and is now closed due to the springlike conditions. We are tentatively planning to reopen the tubing lanes on March 14th if the weather decides to cooperate and provide some cooler nights.
Events & Activities: Looking ahead to later this month, the excitement is building for our annual Beach Party on March 28th and the Passholder Barbecue on March 29th. These events are the perfect way to celebrate the transition into spring.
Safety & Tips: We are highlighting a very important rule regarding personal conduct on the mountain. You must not use any lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs. Maintaining total control and a clear head is essential for your safety and the safety of everyone else enjoying the mountain. Additionally, remember that you can still purchase your lift tickets online in advance to save on the window rate and check the Live Summit Cam for a look at the beautiful sunny skies before you arrive.
-
For Monday, March 9: Expect a beautiful, mostly sunny and milder day. It will feel like true spring on the mountain with temperatures climbing well above freezing.
The base will reach a very warm high of 58°F (2:00 PM) after an early low of 35°F. The summit will hit a high of 50°F and a low of 45°F. Winds will be moderate, blowing from the West to Southwest at 6–12 mph at the base and 15–25 mph at the summit, with summit gusts possibly reaching 30 mph overnight.
