A Step-By-Step Guide to Renting Equipment

How It Works

Step 1

Online Reservation Requirements

Reservations should be made online 24 hours in advance for best available price. During checkout, be prepared with information for each renter.

  • Participant Details: Height, weight, and shoe size
  • Type of Equipment Skier or snowboarder ability level

Step 2

Equipment Pick-Up

Your rental gear will be pre-set based on the information provided during booking. Rentals can be extended at time of pickup subject to availability. Multi-day renters keep their equipment for the full rental period, overnight storage is not available.

  • Shop Opens: 1 hour before lifts start running
  • Picking up before a lesson? Allow 1 hour ahead of scheduled lesson time
  • Optional Early Rental Pickup: Pick up the day before between 2 PM and 3:30 PM

Step 3

Equipment Drop Off

Return your rental gear to the Rental Shop return area, on the opposite end from where you picked it up, no later than 15 minutes after the chairlifts stop running for the day. Late returns, and any equipment left outside the Rental Shop after hours, will be charged an additional day. Multi-day renters keep their equipment for the full rental period, overnight storage is not available.

  • Yes. However, advanced reservations made through the Bretton Woods eStore are encouraged. Rentals made online in advance will have the best available price.

  • Guests can pick up their reserved equipment the day before based on availability. Next-day pickup is only available from 2 PM – 3:30 PM for the following day.

  • Adult Learn to Ski & Ride lessons include rentals and a lift ticket for the Learning Center Quad only.

    Children’s Group lessons include a full mountain lift ticket only. Rentals are sold separately.

    All other lessons require the purchase of lift tickets and/or rentals separate from the lesson.

  • The rental shop is open 1 hour prior to lifts opening and 15 minutes after lifts are closed.

  • All equipment is due back 15 minutes after lifts close.

  • Anyone picking up equipment who is under 18 must have a parent or guardian with them to sign a release waiver.

  • Guests may use their own boots or skis, however, skis or boots must pass inspection and be indemnified in order to be used. Please allow additional time for inspections. Inspections must be done in person and the staff reserves the right not to approve use of equipment. Be aware there is no separate price for skis or boots only. All rentals involving skis and boots are at the full price.

  • Yes. Poles and helmets can be rented separately. Visit our rental shop on the day you need these items.

  • When returning equipment, please enter through the back of the rental shop in the “Return” area.

  • It is recommended that guests with lessons pick up equipment an hour before their lesson. This ensures enough time to get fitted, put gear on, and be outside on snow in time.

Repair Shop

Tune-Up Services

Ensure your equipment is always ready for the slopes with our expert tune-up services.

Basic Tune

A pass on the wet belt sander to clean the base, then a pass on the wet belt edger to sharpen, followed by a pass on the belt waxer to help your equipment glide better. Finally, tips and tails are finished to prevent hooking edges when you don’t want to.

Deluxe Tune

Belt grind and stone grind with ceramic disc edging and hand wax, followed up with a detune.
