“There’s nothing like the excitement of dropping the rope on Opening Day and welcoming skiers and riders back to the mountain,” said Alexa Bernotavicz, Director of Ski Operations, Bretton Woods.

Opening day terrain includes Range View, accessible from the Zephyr High-Speed Quad, with snowmaking in full swing to deliver a gleaming base for those long-awaited first turns. As natural snow begins to pile up, guests can look forward to exploring a brand-new double-black-diamond glade, “Mom Said No,” and riding the new BEQII chairlift.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Lucy Crawford’s Food Court in the base lodge.

Bretton Woods mountain operations crews have been working around the clock to prepare the slopes, earning national recognition for its world-class snowmaking and grooming operations. Even in lighter snow years, the resort consistently delivers top-quality conditions. Last winter, Bretton Woods recorded 189 inches of snowfall.

The resort’s reputation continues to soar: Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards ranked Bretton Woods #3 Best Ski Resort in the U.S. SKI Magazine ranked Bretton Woods #5 in the East and #1 for Snow and Grooming, calling it “the pinnacle of refined, classic New England skiing with fast lifts, perfect grooming, and the best snowmaking in the East.” Boston.com readers voted Bretton Woods the Best Ski Resort in New Hampshire.

To kick off the season, Bretton Woods teamed up with meteorologist Matt Noyes, co-founder of 1 Degree Outside, to share expert insights into this winter’s forecast.

“This is a winter that has some potential for us. We’ve already seen the snow building in Siberia and now expanding into Alaska. That is a step you always need for a decent winter here in New England. The other part of this is La Niña is with us this year… The jet stream dips down across the norther tier of the United States, opening up the door to cold air,” said Noyes.
