Bretton Woods Forecasted Snow Report for Friday, January 9th, 2026
Dry, Fast, & Fun! Conditions on Thursday were as too be expected—a coating of powder on the ungroomed terrain and smooth, carvable snow on the groomers. All around the mountain, skiers and riders were treated to excellent surface conditions, and the momentum will carry right into Friday! With warmer weather making its way into the region, we can expect the riding to be extremely pleasant tomorrow. The air temperature will be staying on the cusp of the goldilocks zone, and we shouldn’t be seeing the sun very much keeping the snow dry, without the bitter New England mid-winter bite we have grown to know and love, very, conditionally. So, enjoy some mild temperatures, and some carvable snow! Want to see it for yourself before you drive up? The Summit Webcam is now LIVE, so you can scope the conditions with your own eyeballs.
Operational Summary: Thursday we will have 6 lifts which start spinning at 9:00 AM. We will be skiing and riding on a Machine Groomed / Packed Powder surface. Our top tier groomers will be out overnight laying down some corduroy as always!
Mountain Notes: Powder stashes can be found on the lower portion of Bode’s and McIntyre’s which can be accessed from the Gondola via Two Miles Home. If you’re looking to dive into the trees, the Stickney Glades are wide open and accessible via Telegraph Traverse. It’s the perfect day to explore those new stashes. Note— that our snowmaking teams are taking a break during this warmup period and the Midway Terrain Park is also being revamped and will be closed through this week. We also have staggered lift closing times: the West Mountain Express and Red-Carpet spin from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, while all other lifts including the Gondola, BEQ II, Zephyr, and LCQ remain open until 4:00 PM.
Plan Your Day: Fresh snow, quiet trails, and no lift lines. it doesn’t get much better. To lock in the best rates and skip the ticket window lines, make sure to book your tickets, rentals, and lessons online before you head up. Grab your gear, check the webcam, and we’ll see you at the summit!
For tomorrow, Friday, January 9: Expect mainly cloudy skies with a period of rain or showers arriving later in the afternoon and evening. There is a chance for partial clearing late tonight as the system moves through. It’s a relatively mild but damp day, with a base high of 36°F (3:00 PM) and a summit high of 37°F (early morning). Winds will be light at the base (<7 mph) but more active at the summit (12–20 mph) from the south.
