West Wall Climb

A ride up the Skyway Gondola and a short hike brings you to the base of the Southwest face of Mount Oscar. Known to Bretton Woods skiers as West Mountain, the summit rises in a dramatic granite wall to 3,000 feet, set within the White Mountain National Forest overlooking the Pemigewasset Wilderness and Zealand Valley.

This three-hour guided climb is designed for all ability levels, and no prior climbing experience is required. One expert guide accompanies up to three guests, tailoring every route to the group’s abilities and goals. Several routes of varying difficulty, each approximately 400 feet in length, ensure every climber is challenged and rewarded. Guests are belayed on all technical sections, and fixed ropes are available for asisstance if needed.

All technical equipment is provided, including harness, helmet, and shoes.

• Every participant must sign a Waiver and Release Form. Guests under the age of 18 must have a signed waiver from their parent or legal guardian.
• Participants must be at least 8 years-old and safely fit in the harness provided.
• Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Each participant needs to be in relatively good physical condition and able to walk over uneven ground.
